Heat Pumps To Be Rated Under Energy Related Products Directive (ErP)

The ErP directive requires that all space and water heater technology such as a heat pump will need to display an energy label in both residential and commercial installations. This will allow for the identification of the most energy-efficient products on the market whilst brining heating products into the same standard as other energy consuming goods such as fridges and washing machines. These labels will show the efficiency ranging from the most efficient A++ to the least efficient G and will be clearly marked with coloured bars from green (the most efficient) to red (least efficient).Heat Pumps To Be Rated Under Energy Related Products Directive (ErP)

Generally speaking there are two parts to the ErP strategy which affect both manufacturers and installers and everyone involved needs to understand how this will change the heating market. The first is called the EcoDesign regulation where manufacturers will need to produce energy-using products that meet energy performance standards.

The second is under energy labelling regulations where products must be clearly labelled using a standard method so that consumers can make a direct comparison between individual products and different technologies. Any non ErP compliant heat pumps that are commissioned after 25th March 2016 regardless of the date that they were placed on the market will not be eligible for MCS certification or the RHI, and it is important that this is made clear to customers. Underfloor Heating Systems Range Expanded

Our underfloor heating systems page will provide information on our principles on energy savings, floor construction coordination & advantages for using Compact Floor Heating systems & Wall Heating Module and Non Modular Systems. This is a new range of products launched by Thermo-Floor for 2016 and was showcased at the recent Grand Designs exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham during October 2015.Underfloor Heating Systems Range Expanded

Compact Floor Heating Systems - The right floor heating system not only gives you optimum comfort, it also saves energy and money. The cost of operating a floor heating system can be reduced due to low surface temperatures and hence low heating water temperature.

Wall Heating Modular Systems - Variotherm Modular wall heating/cooling installations are a source of well-being. They provide heating through horizontal radiant heat instead of the ascending warm air provided by conventional heating systems. This avoids the permanent movement of air and the associated stirring up of dust.

Wall Heating Non Modular Systems - Variotherm system wall or easyFlex wall heating/cooling installations are a source of well-being. They provide heating through horizontal radiant heat instead of the ascending warm air provided by conventional heating systems.

Underfloor Heating & Cooling System - Multi Room Video Presentation

Underfloor Heating & Cooling Systems - Multi Room domestic installation covering confined spaces and multiple areas. Variables include wall types, floor types and eternal walls. Our range of products also allows us to provide underfloor cooling all year round if required (for warmer climates) and we can also provide simultaneous underfloor heating and cooling so one room heating and another room cooling at the same time from the same manifold.Underfloor Heating & Cooling System - Multi Room Video Presentation

An underfloor cooling system works by the transfer of energy by radiant heat exchange. Radiant heat is when warmth is passed to cooler objects so when the floor is cooled to a temperature cooler than the surrounding air, the floor then absorbs radiant energy proportional to the temperature difference between the surface and the room. This reduces the radiant air temperature more than the temperature of the floor. By continuing to pass cool water through the floor we are able to keep the floor area cool, which enables us to continually absorb warm air from the room through the floor.
