Underfloor Heating & Gas Boilers

Condensing gas boilers work on the principle of recovering as much as possible of the waste heat which is normally rejected to the atmosphere from the flue of a conventional (non-condensing) boiler. This makes them ideal for underfloor heating installations.

Condensing Boilers

The term condensing boiler refers to the fact that the boilers produce condense from time to time. Condensing boilers use heat from exhaust gases that would normally be released into the atmosphere through the flue. To use this latent heat, the water vapour from the exhaust gas is turned into liquid condensate.

Combination Boilers

A combi boiler provides heating and hot water directly from the boiler. A combi (or combination) boiler is an ingenious space-saving idea, and an increasingly popular choice in UK homes. In fact, combis now account for well over half of all the new domestic boilers installed in Britain every year.

Regular Boilers

Regular boilers (also known as conventional boilers) heat your central heating system directly and produce hot water for your cylinder. If you are replacing an older model of boiler, the chances are that you will have a regular (also known as conventional) boiler.

Underfloor Heating & Gas Boilers

System Boilers

A system boiler, just like a regular (conventional) boiler works on the principle of stored hot water. The system boiler removes the need for a feed and expansion cistern. This is accomplished by using an extra-large heat exchanger or sometimes two heat exchangers within the boiler which maximises heat transfer from the burner as well as recovering useful heat which would normally be lost with the flue gases. Our range of underfloor heating systems are ideally suited to gas condensing boilers.

Condensing Boilers & Underfloor Heating

The return water is used to cool the heat exchanger which in turn cools the flue gases. If the return water temperature is to hot then the cooling effect will be impaired resulting in less condensing and lower efficiencies. To sum up, with water return temperature of 55°C or less, the latent heat is condensed out of the flue gases.
